Career dissatisfaction is an unfavorable feeling, morale, opinion, attitude or quality-of-work-life with which you view your job. It can be an affective attitude (emotional) or an objective thought (belief).
It happens when you feel stuck in your position or you have no career advancement. You feel like your efforts are not being rewarded by promotion, positive feedback or a pat in the back. You feel you're not well compensated and so you're frustrated that you can't afford the lifestyle that you want. This creates resentment to your boss, to your colleagues, to your company and to yourself.
The worst scenario is that your job dissatisfaction eats you up. You take it home with you. Your relationships are affected. You would have a feat with your spouse. You're easily angered. You're easily stressed out.
This is called the spillover effect. All elements of your life are affected with your job dissatisfaction. It is because, who are a whole person. Work life is not separable from home life, emotional and physical conditions. You function as a total human being.
